100% pubblica
Great initiative spotted over in Italy >
A new initiative to cut down on bottled water consumption, called “100% Public,” is being launched today, World Environment Day.
Tourists are being given empty water bottles with the message “Don’t throw me away, re-use me!” and a map indicating the 122 fountains flowing with water from the city’s aqueducts (see below), inviting them to quench their thirst directly from the source.
Venice was chosen for the launch of the scheme due to its obvious links with water and its role as a tourist center. However there are plans to take the project to Italy’s other major cities.
The campaign offers people the chance to cut waste and save money at the same time.
Love it. Visit > 100% pubblica

Logan Real x TOMS x BLU LBL
One of the first ideas (to raise money for the PlayPump) was to have Logan custom design a pair of TOMS shoes. (Pictured above) With TOMS buy one, give one philosophy,.. (very inspiring) we thought this would be a great potential collaboration. Imagine having a shoe drop take place where the PlayPump is built!
We’d love to speak to someone @ TOMS and see if there is any chance for collaboration. No matter how big or small. We have nothing to lose (only a ton to gain) by trying to reach out. We’ll see what happens,.. fingers crossed.
If you’d like you can maybe help us out and e-mail TOMS. Tell them you want a pair of BLU LBL’s!
Thanks everyone!
{side note} We still haven’t heard back from anyone @ TOMS.

How many bottles to take ONE bath?..
Love this >
Flore de Crombrugghe is responsible for this design, the transparent bath. Flore has added measurements on a transparent bath, allowing you to see how many bottles of drinkable water you are actually wasting. A simple solution to make people think about how much water they use everyday.

Provide him water, make him improve immediately

A child’s well-being is highly dependent on both the quality and the availability of water. But in Afro-Asian areas, the solution is not put enough attention. The World Health Organisation (WHO) drinking water project is encouraging people to give out financial help to these areas.

Jay-Z: Water For Life

{originally posted on idUnited Nov 30th, 2006}
Jay-z is doing an amazing job getting the word out about the worlds water crisis. We covered his “H 2 the izzO” charity concert last week. Since then I’ve seen him on MTV “Diary of Jay-Z > Water For Life” (see a clip below) He was on Nightline last night and now there’s even a shoe! No it’s not the S. Carters,.. they’re the latest creation of JG Customs: Nike Air Force 1 “Water For Life”

At this time, the only way you can purchase a pair is if you e-mail JGoods personally at jgoodscustoms@gmail.com. Availability is extremely limited. All proceeds to benefit charity.

World Water Day - March 22nd

World Water Day is an international day of observance and action to draw attention to the plight of the more than 1 billion people world wide that lack access to clean, safe drinking water. Celebrated since 1993, World Water Day was designated in 1992 when the United Nations (UN) General Assembly passed a resolution. With each passing year, the observance has grown larger and stronger.
In many ways though, World Water Day is still a relatively unknown event. Even with the support of the UN and efforts by leading non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and committed individuals, World Water Day is today at a similar stage as Earth Day was in the early 1970’s – important but relatively unknown.
